Insurance for the Visayas requires coverage for the full Philippine area. A policy restricted to "Philippine territorial waters" without Named Storm cover is inadequate. The Visayan Sea lies in a typhoon crossroads — systems from the Pacific frequently track directly through the archipelago from the San Bernardino Strait, while Gulf storms approach from the Sulu Sea.
